The story - February 14, 2010
On Valentine's Day, Andy and I had a date night planned, but he decided he wanted to propose earlier in the day. So, we went to Fayzee's in downtown, La Crosse, WI then went to Riverside Park on the Mississippi to exchange gifts. I got him some cologne, which he opened first. Then I opened my gift, which was a couple of books double wrapped in wrapping paper with all the seams taped then in a gift bag that was completely taped shut! In one of the books was a card which had a funny picture of a squirrel and said, "It may be kind of squirrelly to send this Valentine... I thought I'd go out on a limb and ask if you'd be mine." But he crossed out "be mine" and wrote "Marry Me!" instead! He smoothly pulled this gorgeous ring out of his jacket and asked me. Of course, I said yes! We went home and told his parents and called mine. Then we went about the rest of our date night, which included going out for pizza with his cousin and a couple friends, games at Chuck E. Cheese (almost got enough tickets for the tootsie roll pillow!) and many wistful glances at my left hand. :)
